Privacy Policy
Locker is operated by 72Knots.AI LLC (“Locker,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Use Locker mobile app and our websites at uselocker.app and app.uselocker.app (together, the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Locker is a tool for hospitality businesses (“Operators”) to check guests’ items in and out without paper tickets. Two groups of people interact with the Service: Operators and their staff, who hold an account with us; and Guests, whose phone numbers an Operator enters so the Guest can receive a text confirmation and retrieve their item. Operators decide what Guest information to enter and are responsible for it; for that information, Locker acts as a processor on the Operator’s behalf.
Information we collect
Information Operators provide
- Account details — name, email address, and a password (stored only in hashed form). If you sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple provides and, if you choose to share it, your email.
- Business details — your business or location name and the type of operation (for example, bag check, valet, coat check, ski storage).
- Payment information — a payment card kept on file is collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Consent records — the date and time you attest that you will obtain your Guests’ consent before entering their phone numbers.
Information created when staff use the app
- Item records — descriptions, tags, and the check-in / retrieval status of stored items.
- Photos — a photo of a stored item, captured by staff at check-in.
Guest information (entered by Operators)
- Phone number — used to send a text confirmation and as the Guest’s retrieval identifier (a Guest is identified at pickup by the last digits of their phone number).
Information collected automatically
- Log and diagnostic data — such as app version, basic device information, and error or crash information used to keep the Service working and secure.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service — check items in and out, match Guests to their items, and show staff what is in storage.
- To send transactional text messages to Guests (for example, a check-in confirmation or a retrieval request). These are outbound, service messages — see our SMS Terms.
- To process Operator subscription and messaging-credit payments through Stripe.
- To analyze item photos to assist with item descriptions.
- To provide support, maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How information is shared
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Stripe — payment processing and card storage.
- Twilio — delivery of text messages.
- Resend — delivery of account and verification emails.
- OpenAI — analysis of item photos to assist with descriptions.
- DigitalOcean — hosting and storage of the Service.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
How long we keep information
We keep Operator account information for as long as the account is active. Item and Guest records are generally retained for about one year in active storage, then archived for up to seven years to meet legal, audit, and dispute-resolution needs, after which they are deleted. We delete or de-identify information sooner where required by law.
Security
We protect information in transit using encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and restrict access to it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Operators can review and update their account information in the app. Operators can delete their account and associated data from within the app, or by contacting us through our support form. If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also revokes that sign-in.
Guests who want their information accessed, corrected, or deleted should contact the business that took in their item, or contact us through our support form and we will route the request to the relevant Operator.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. To exercise any of these, contact us through our support form.
Children
The Service is intended for businesses and their staff and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify Operators in the app.
